Principals Message
July 8, 2010
Dear Hilltop Parents/Guardians,
We have been dealing with record heat in the Philadelphia area so I am hoping everyone is taking care and drinking plenty of fluids, applying sunscreen and limiting their time outdoors. It is a great time to sit and enjoy your summer reading! The lists are on our web site if you need to refer to it. We have also provided the school supply lists for each grade on our website.
The summer is filled with planning for the upcoming school year. I take this time to reflect on the previous school year as I plan for the upcoming year. With that I would like to thank you for your involvement and enthusiasm. The Hilltop families are very special and dedicated to learning and achievement both academically and personally. It is my honor to serve this community and I cherish the relationships I have established and the bonds I have made with the children.
I would like to continue to remind you of a few important items relating to the school information:
- Remember to take advantage of the opportunity to pre-order snacks for birthdays or parties through our Food Service Department. If you are interested please contact our main office or the Food Service department. The Food Service Department also offers the MealPayPlus service so you can set up an account online and control the payments and view purchasing history for your child.
- The district AlertNow system is used to contact you in the event of school emergencies or other important announcements. Please be sure to keep your contact information up to date and establish a contingency plan with your children and practice and discuss frequently. Please remember to contact Mrs. Hefton @ 610-485-6746 to update your primary contact number.
**Tues. Sept 7th is the first day of school for students in grades 1-4.
- Kindergarten will report for their first day of school on Thurs. Sept. 9th, and this will be a full day.
Mark your calendars for these September events:

Reminders:
v Please sign in at the office and obtain a visitor’s pass. We will not interrupt instruction after 9am. If you need to speak with a teacher you may leave a message to arrange a conference at an agreeable time.
v When your child is out sick, please remember to call the 610.485.6746 to report the absence. Be sure to speak slowly and clearly and provide your child’s name and room number.
